How to send a tap from the Lock Screen or Control Center

Send a tap without opening the app: a Lock Screen widget on iOS 17, and a Send a tap control on iOS 18 or later.

Lock Screen control (iOS 18 or later)

1. Pair with your partner in the app first.
2. Touch and hold the Lock Screen, then tap Customize and choose the Lock Screen.
3. Tap one of the two control buttons at the bottom of the screen and remove it if needed.
4. Tap the plus button, search for Love Taps and choose Send a tap.
5. Tap Done. Pressing the button sends a tap to your partner.

Control Center (iOS 18 or later)

1. Swipe down from the top-right corner to open Control Center.
2. Touch and hold an empty area, or tap the plus button at the top left.
3. Tap Add a Control, search for Love Taps and choose Send a tap.

Lock Screen widget (iOS 17 or later)

1. Touch and hold the Lock Screen, tap Customize, then the Lock Screen.
2. Tap the widget area below the clock and choose Love Taps.
3. Add the round or rectangular Love Taps widget. Tapping it sends a tap to your partner.
